The Handi-Cassette II is the next generation of APH's popular compact Talking Book-type tape recorder/player.
Tape Play Features:
- Digital Pitch Control (DPC): Increase the rate of listening up to double speed, and adjust the pitch of the voice to avoid unpleasant high or low pitch. Digital Pitch Control has much higher sound quality as compared to earlier speech compression systems.
- 2-track or 4-track play at either 1 7/8 inches per second (ips) tape speed (commercial) or 15/16 ips speed (Talking Book).
- Sound Controls: Volume, Tone, Balance, DPC Tape Speed, DPC Pitch.
- Playback through built-in mono speaker or stereo headphones (included).
- Preview and Review: If you press and hold Fast Forward or Rewind while in Play mode, you will be able to hear tones or silence between selections.
Tape Recording Features
- 2-track or 4-track mono recording at either 1 7/8 ips or 15/16 ips speed.
- Tone Indexing Button: Used to record an audible tone signal for indexing material. In Preview or Review mode, the Index tone is a high-pitched beep.
- Built-in condenser microphone.
Other Features
- Tape motion sensing window.
- Buttons with tactile symbols for tape operation.
- Jacks: Remote Control, External Microphone, Stereo Headphone, External Power (6V DC).
- Choice of Power: From AC converter (included), or rechargeable battery pack (included), or four regular AA batteries (not included). Features an audible low battery warning in record mode.
- Compact size: only 6 3/4 x 4 3/8 x 2 1/4 inches. Weight 21 oz.

Note: The Handi II International does not come with an AC power converter. Customers must supply their own power converter that is compatible with their country's electrical system. This power converter must have an output of 6 volts DC at 200 milliamps and have a plug with a 5.5 mm outside diameter and a 2.1 mm inside diameter, inside negative.
